A legendary Manitoba skip is calling it a career from curling.

Jeff Stoughton announced his retirement from the sport Wednesday on Twitter, saying he's stepping back from the game.

The 51 year old Winnipegger was playing on an entirely new rink this season and lost in the semifinals of the Safeway Championship this year to Mike McEwen.

Stoughton won three Briers and two World championships over his 21 year career.
