Dauphin is set to be a stop on a trip that's going all across Canada during the winter.
As a part of their sixth season, Rogers Hometown Hockey will make a stop in Dauphin on November 16-17. The weekend will offer free festivities for all ages.
That includes entertainment, your chance to get up close and personal with NHL alumni and there will be a live outdoor viewing party of an NHL broadcast from the Sportsnet Mobile Studio.
There will also be several hockey-themed activities.
“We are very excited to have Rogers Hometown Hockey making Dauphin one of 25 community stops throughout the 2019-20 NHL season,” said Allen Dowhan, Mayor of the City of Dauphin, “It’s a privilege to have this festival come to Dauphin for a full weekend in November and we thank Rogers Hometown Hockey and co-presenting partners Hyundai Canada and Scotiabank for helping to unite hockey fans across Canada.”
"We've invested a lot of money in our sports facilities and recreation," said Dowhan. "Dauphin really should be recognized as a can-do community."
Once again, this year's hosts will be Ron MacLean and Tara Slone.
When it comes down to what Allen is most excited about, that's simple.
"Just to see the excitement of the kids. There's a peewee tournament in Dauphin that weekend as well so there will be people from outside the community as well here," concluded Dowhan. "It's just so great, I think everyone is going to realize that Dauphin is a great place to live.
We'll have more details on the schedule for the days when we can.
