A bad seven minute span in the second period cost the Dauphin Kings Saturday night at Credit Union Place as they were edged 2-1 by the Virden Oil Capitals.
The Kings made it close late in the middle frame thanks to Taran Lacquette’s (5) second goal in as many games. The Power Play marker cut the lead in half but Dauphin couldn’t break through Virden’s Sean Kuehn.
Special Teams ended up doing the Kings in for the second straight evening. This time Dauphin was unable to capitalize on a number of man advantage opportunities, they finished the night 1 for 6 on the Power Play, and 4 for 4 on the Penalty Kill.
