The Dauphin Kings looked like a team that had been off for over a week as they fell behind early and couldn’t recover in a 5-2 loss to the Selkirk Steelers Friday night.
The first period saw the Kings drop back by three goals after some tough defensive breakdowns. It carried on a little bit into the second period before Ryan Edevold (6) was able to stop the bleeding by making it 4-1. From there Dauphin actually didn’t play too bad. In the third period they made it a bit closer on a tally by local product Taran Lacquette (4). However after a tough goalie interference penalty the Steelers capitalized on the Power Play and didn’t look back.
Dauphin did have a five minute man advantage in the third period and a 5 on 3 but couldn’t get the momentum back.
