The union that represents support staff at Dauphin's hospital facilities says its members have concerns over safety and staffing shortages.
Manitoba Government and General Employees Union members marched in front of the Dauphin Regional Health Centre yesterday.
MGEU president Michelle Gawronsky says they are hoping the RHA gets the message that they want to sit down and talk about health and safety issues their members have.
"We've been asking for over two years: sit down with us, let's do some labour management meetings. They do some on this side of the mountain, we want to do some on the other side. But they need to start addressing, they can't just all be listening, we need to address the issues."
Coincidentally, Prairie Mountain Health CEO Penny Gilson was in Dauphin yesterday for an overview and acknowledgement of the Community Cancer Care Program.
Gilson said negotiations are ongoing and declined to comment on the MGEU issue.
