A new Judge of the Court of the Queen's Bench in Dauphin says it feels like coming home.
The Honourable Madam Justice Sandra Zinchuk is a graduate of Swan River Regional Secondary School.
Her appointment to the Court of Queen's Bench was celebrated at a swearing-in ceremony at Dauphin's courthouse today.
Zinchuk called it a wonderful day.
"I'm truly excited. I'm happy to be here and I'm eager to get started."
To end the ceremony, Zinchuk delivered a speech to a courtroom packed with colleagues, family, and friends. She says she wanted to address the important people in her life, and was visibly emotional when thanking her mom.
Zinchuk was appointed in February, and has already been sitting as a Court of Queen's Bench judge in Dauphin.
