The City of Dauphin is temporarily closing the compost drop-off area at the waste disposal grounds due to what it calls continued abuse of the site.
The City will be installing high-def night vision cameras in the downtime, and the site is expected to be reopened for afterhours use at the end of the first week of June.
The site will be monitored 24 hours a day once its reopened, and anyone caught disposing a non-compostable material at the site will be fined in accordance with City of Dauphin by-laws.
In the meantime, any composting materials can be dropped at the waste disposal grounds Monday to Friday 8:30am till 7pm, and Saturdays 8am till 4pm.
