Manitoba Police Officer Shot
RCMP in Manitoba have confirmed that an officer suffered a gunshot wound.
Witnesses have told media in Brandon they saw a standoff outside a home in the community of Kemnay on Friday.
Mounties issued a news release yesterday, saying that the traffic services officer's injuries are not life-threatening and that one person is in custody.
Police say they are still investigating.

Rain And Snow Help Slow Fire In Sask
Mother Nature has helped battle a northern Saskatchewan forest fire that forced hundreds of people to flee their homes.
Evacuations began at the Black Lake Denesuline First Nation on Friday evening when the blaze got to within a kilometre of the community.
But Chief Ricky Robillard says heavy rain and snow slowed the fire overnight, and the evacuations were stopped.
The province considered the fire stable by yesterday afternoon.

France is joining Hungary, Slovakia and Estonia in opposing a European Union plan to deal with migrants crossing the Mediterranean.
The EU wants to establish a quota system that would set maximum refugee limits for each member country based on population, employment levels and other factors.
The French prime minister opposes the plan, but last week, the country's interior minister supported it.
