No matter what party wins, Dauphin will definitely have a new MLA come the next provincial election.
Current MLA Stan Struthers says he will not run in the election scheduled for next year.
Although he was disappointed with the way the leadership contest turned out, Struthers says he was careful not to let the negativity from that seep into the decision-making process here-- a decision he says is central to him and his family.
"The decision not to run was made on the basis of what our future can do, you know, what we face as a family, and the opportunities that lie ahead for us."
Struthers says he speaks with his family before every election, and this time they decided not to run.
