Yesterday's McHappy Day is being called a success.

The McDonalds in Dauphin raised $3246 through the promotion, with the money being split between Smith Jackson School, and the Ronald McDonald House.

Dauphin resident Curtis Kaleta says he's always been supportive of the Ronald McDonald House, especially after the help they provided to his family.

"Our son was actually born two months early and we spent a whole month when he was first born at Ronald McDonald House. We've probably stayed there about eight more times after that, and it's a wonderful place to stay and I'm glad it's there. If it wasn't there, then you'd be either living out of a hotel or living out of your car, or who knows. We were glad that it was there for us."

Kaleta says he always looks forward to the McHappy Day promotion every year.
