Winnipegosis librarian Deborah Delaronde says she was "shocked" when she found out that she had won the Beatrice Mosionier Aboriginal Writer of the Year Award.
Delaronde says she wasn't expecting to win the award, saying she felt the other finalists were more deserving to win.
She says her family is very proud of her and she says winning the award will always be special for her.
