The Parkland chapter of the MS society is bringing a special guest to Dauphin for MS Awareness Month.

Chapter manager Robin Searle says Dr. Michael Cossoy, a neurologist with the MS clinic at the Winnipeg health sciences centre, will be speaking at the Countryfest Community Cinema on May 7.

Searle says he'll be talking about a number of topics related to MS.

"He's actually going to be addressing disease modifying therapies, different options for people living with MS and comparing the benefits of older therapies with the new therapies that are coming out. It's not just for those individuals living with MS of course, it is for anyone who is interested in learning more about what the MS society does, but also more about what treatment options are available to those living with MS."

Searle says the main goal of MS awareness month is to make the public more aware of the disease and raise funds for MS research.
