Mossey River is planning to finish installing smart water meters in Winnipegosis by the end of April.
Head of council Kate Basford says the switch takes away a week's worth of work from public works employees.
With smart meters, public works staff can read water meters by driving by them instead of personally checking them.
At last Thursday's town hall meetings, Basford said 224 smart meters had already been installed with 39 left to go.
