Sask Police Warn of Escaped Murder Suspect
Police in Saskatchewan say an escaped murder suspect wanted on a Canada-wide warrant should be considered armed and dangerous and may be with his girlfriend.
They say 27-year-old Braidy Vermette may be in the company of Tristen Smith, a brunette who recently dyed her hair blond, and that both have neck tattoos with each other's names.
He was being taken from the Prince Albert Provincial Correctional Centre to a hospital for a self-inflicted injury last week when two masked men used bear spray to overcome his unarmed guards.
Vermette was in remand waiting to appear in court on a first-degree murder charge when he escaped.

Pallister Open to Pride, Not to LGBTQ Minister
Manitoba Conservative Leader Brian Pallister -- who once called same-sex marriage a social experiment -- says he'd be open to participating in pride celebrations if elected premier.
Pallister says he wasn't the only one to call same-sex marriage a "social experiment'' when he was an MP in 2005, so he doesn't feel he has to build bridges with the gay and lesbian community.
He says he's not adverse to the idea of attending pride events -- as NDP Premier Greg Selinger has done -- but Pallister's office says he hasn't attended any since becoming Opposition leader four years ago.
The New Democrats say they will appoint a minister responsible for LGBTQ issues if the party is re-elected on April 19th. Media reports say Pallister doesn't plan to appoint such a minister.
