A Dauphin resident has entered in a big photography contest!

Kelly Michaluk has entered four photos into the Professional Photographers of Canada National Print Competition that's held in Vancouver. There are three different levels of acceptance (accepted, merit and excellence.)

Last year she had submitted two photos, and her two photos ended up getting picked at the level "accepted" and were published into a book.

This year she hopes to go four for four. And with only 24 hours left until the live judging to see if any of her pictures are picked, shes says she's a little nervous, but excited.

"You almost have this small little heart attack when your image gets pulled up. And how it works is that you've got your four or six judges and your image comes up on a screen, and they are sitting there and they are looking at it and talking about it. Your stomach just does all these flip flops, and you're just sitting there like, oh my god!"

She gets points for each image accepted into the national salon, and that goes towards getting her Masters of Photographic Art.
