If you've got a sweet tooth for a good cause, then supporting Barker School students is the way to go!

The grade four students are having a cookie sale to help raise money for the Dauphin Fire Department "Roof Top Camp Out for Muscular Dystrophy.''

Alexander Tomkins, who was the mastermind behind this idea says this was a good way to contribute to the cause.

"It just feels good to have like other people not to suffer, and so that we can find a cure. My dad's a fire fighter and my uncle's are as well, so it makes me feel good to help them out."

Tomkins' grade 4 teacher, Megan Porter, says that for the whole class to get involved with the cookie sale it's a good way for the students to grasp what they are learning in class right now.

"In the curriculum they need to be active democratic citizens and show how they can impact their community. And I think as a parent, that it's very important for students to see how they can give back and hopefully they will continue to give back throughout their development in growing up."

Students decorated 150 cookies to be sold for one dollar and the sale goes on until tomorrow-or until they run out.
