Water Wheels in Motion
There was a largely positive response to the RM of Dauphin's plan for connecting some residents with water service from the G3 Regional Water Coop in Gilbert Plains.
Lots of people turned out for an information meeting at the Selo site last night.
Aaron Miner says he's been waiting for this service.
"We moved out into the phase one area about 10 years ago, and have been hoping and waiting and dreaming of this day to come actually, so it's a great day."
Cost details were provided last night. The pipeline is estimated to cost $2.48-million, with half of that paid by the RM. The distribution cost for phase one is estimated at $3.13-million, and will be shared three ways with the federal and provincial governments, and those connecting to the line.

Premier Greg Selinger says he will continue to focus on plans for the economy, social justice and the environment.
The government will spend much of its time passing more than a dozen bills left over from the fall.
They include new protections for victims of domestic violence, new powers for the province's children's advocate, and a plan to make aboriginal history part of the school curriculum.

CBC Looking at Gilbert Plains' Hemp Industry
Gilbert Plains could soon be getting some national media attention!
CBC's program, Still Standing, is looking to showcase Gilbert Plains and its newly boosted hemp processing industry.
Reeve Blake Price says the show could mean big things for the town.
"This is certainly going to be a boost. Like we said, it will put Gilbert Plains on the map as one of the biggest hemp processors in western Canada, so it will make Gilbert Plains a different community I would suspect."
Price says CBC is looking for locals to possibly be interviewed for the show. Anyone from hemp farmers to business experts can put their name in the hat by contacting the municipal office.
