Finance Update Expected in Ottawa
Canada's finance minister will unveil fresh numbers today that will show how much the recent economic downturn has darkened Canada's growth outlook.
Bill Morneau will hold a town hall meeting in Ottawa.
The data he'll present might give Canadians a better idea of the size of the budgetary deficit, though any hard figures won't come until Morneau delivers his budget, expected late next month.
