Bombing in Syria Kills at Least 50
At least 50 people are dead following a triple bombing in a mainly Shiite suburb south of the Syrian capital of Damascus. ISIL militants have claimed responsibility for Sunday's attack.
Meanwhile, a UN mediator has held his first meeting in Geneva with members of Syria's main opposition group.

Climate Change Causing Warming Winter Trend, says Climatologist
Environment Canada's senior climatologist says climate change could mean Manitoba will inherit the sort of weather that exists today in Nebraska or even Iowa.
David Phillips says the trend for warmer winters on the Prairies isn't a fluctuation -- it's a change in climate.
Phillips says that could be good because warmer weather means more food could be grown.
He says the flipside is there will be challenges with bugs, weeds and water.

Ghomeshi Trial
Former CBC broadcaster Jian Ghomeshi will be in a Toronto court today to face allegations his sexual encounters with several women were not consensual.
The former host of CBC Radio's popular culture show "Q'' has pleaded not guilty to four counts of sexual assault and one of overcoming resistance by choking.
He will be tried by judge alone in a trial expected to last several weeks.
CBC bosses fired Ghomeshi in October 2014 after they said they'd seen "graphic evidence'' that he'd physically injured a woman.

PC Party Disallows Nominee
The Progressive Conservative Party of Manitoba has decided to disallow a nominee to run for the party.
The party's website says its candidate selection committee decided the candidacy of David Horbas would be "seriously problematic and not in the best interests of the party.''
Horbas was nominated in 2014 to run for the party in Selkirk.
Horbas, a businessman from the RM of St. Clements, said in an email yesterday that he was not immediately prepared to comment.
