Manitoba Conservation officers responded to a report of a possible elk shooting from Highway 10 near Antler Corner last Thursday.
A Manitoba press release says no dead elk and no evidence of drag marks have been found to date, and melting temperatures and snow have made following the trail difficult.
The same press release describes conservation officers investigating a bull moose shot in Game Hunting Area 26, north of Lac du Bonnet area, last Wednesday. Moose population recovery measures are in place in GHA 26 and a suspect has been issued a notice to appear in provincial court.
