Zebra mussels have spread to another Manitoba lake.
Manitoba Conservation and Water Stewardship says water sampling reports found a single larval zebra mussel in a sample collected from Cedar Lake.
Conservation and Water Stewardship says this strongly suggests overland movement of uncleaned watercraft or equipment because Cedar Lake doesn't connect to a waterway where zebra mussels were previously found.
The province is now implementing its early detection and rapid response protocol at Cedar Lake.
