The Lawrence Recreation Committee and the Rorketon Curling Club are hosting the Manitoba 150 Birthday celebrations and Curling Bonspiel on Friday, February 14th to Sunday, February 16th. The Bonspiel is on all weekend. On Friday, it's kid’s activities from 1 pm to 4 pm, skating and a card tournament at 6 pm. On Saturday, it's kid’s activities, skating, dinner, and a DJ Dance. On Sunday, take in a morning matinee, giant floor games, and kid’s activities. All of these events will be at the Lawrence Community Center in Rorketon. On Saturday, take in a free family swim at the Kinsmen Aquatic Center from 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm and a free family skate at the Rotary Arena from 2:15 pm to 3:30 pm. On Sunday, enjoy a free family movie at the Countryfest Community Cinema with doors opening at 9:30 am, and showtime at 10 am. Also, on Sunday, enjoy a free family skate at the Rotary Arena from 6 pm to 7:30 pm. On Monday, it’s a free parent and tot swim from 10:30 am to 1 pm, and don’t miss Louis Riel Day Activities at the Fort Dauphin Museum on Monday as well.
Attend the Louis Riel Day Celebrations at the Kinosota Community Centre on Saturday, February 15th, starting at 10 am. It will be a full day of fun with family-friendly activities, including a pancake breakfast, sleigh rides, cribbage tournament, various games, fish fry, open mic, silent auction and more.
Take in the Louis Riel Celebration at the McCreary Community Center on Saturday, February 15th with Beef Stew and Bannock from 5 pm to 7 pm, and live music from the Cameron Campbell Band and Katelyn Baker from 7 pm to 10 pm.
Take in the Louis Riel Family Day Celebrations in Ste.Rose on Sunday, February 16th. Events start at 1 pm at the Community Centre parking lot, with sleigh rides, fire pits, hot apple cider, and hot chocolate. Then at 4:30 pm go indoors to the Ste.Rose Community Centre for supper at 5:30 pm, and at 7 pm it’s fellowship and live entertainment followed by an old-time dance featuring the Campbell Band. Ste.Rose Minor Hockey is also hosting a Road Hockey Tournament as part of the Ste.Rose Louis Riel Weekend festivities on Sunday, February 16th. Take in the Fort Dauphin Museum’s Annual Louis Riel Day Celebrations on Monday, February 17th, from 1 pm to 4 pm. There will be snow taffy, bannock, snowshoeing, outdoor games, wagon rides, hot chocolate, concession, and much more.
